Pop Portriat Tile
Artist Statement: To make the pop portrait tile, I got a ball of clay and made the ball into a square. After that I started at each corner, would place my palms on one of the corners and push down and out for each corner. Then I grabbed a roller and rolled out the wedged clay till it was about the width of my pinky. I got a portrait of myself and printed it out. After that I cut the edges of my tile off to make a better shape. Then I traced my portrait out with a marker, and put it on my tile so the marker would be absorbed into the clay. After that I carved out my portrait of myself on the tile. Once it was carved out I made some features stand out, and some subtracted features.
